ALENKA ZUPAN, Academic Music Specialist &#8211; Flutist<br \/>\nAlenka Zupan from Koper began her musical journey at the Koper Music School in the<br \/>\nclass of prof. Marijan Kocjan\u010di\u010d. She continued her flute studies at the Secondary School of<br \/>\nMusic and Ballet in Ljubljana in the class of prof. Jo\u017ee Poga\u010dnik, later at the Academy of<br \/>\nMusic in Ljubljana under the mentorship of prof. Fedja Rupla, studied at the Accademia del<br \/>\nflauto in Rome (Italy) with prof. Raymond Guiot and at the same time completed<br \/>\npostgraduate studies at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris (France) with prof. Christian<br \/>\nCheret, where she received the highest degree of excellence and recognition: \u201cDipl\u00f4me<br \/>\nSup\u00e9rieur de Concertiste de Fl\u00fbte, a l&amp;#39;unanimit\u00e9 avec les f\u00e9licitations du Jury\u201d. In September<br \/>\n2006, she completed the Master\u2019s Degree programme: Special didactics of playing flute, at<br \/>\nthe Academy of Music in Ljubljana under the mentorship of professors Fedja Rupel and<br \/>\nBranka Rotar-Pance, PhD.<br \/>\nWith numerous concerts, performances in various chamber ensembles, orchestras<br \/>\nand as a soloist with the Coastal Chamber Orchestra, she performed in Croatia, Serbia, Italy,<br \/>\nGermany, Austria, France, Malta, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Switzerland,<br \/>\nBangkok-Thailand, Florida-USA and Hungary. She collaborated with the orchestra of the<br \/>\nLjubljana Opera and Ballet orchestra, the string orchestra &amp;quot;Camerata Labacensis&amp;quot;, the flute<br \/>\nquartet Quatuor de Fl\u00fbtes de Paris (France) and many other Slovene and international<br \/>\nmusicians and artists. She published the CD &amp;quot;Breath of Life&amp;quot; (the sounds of the flute with the<br \/>\nsounds of nature); with the singer Shirlie Roden she issued CD &amp;quot;Angels Sounds&amp;quot; (old folk<br \/>\nsongs); with the guitarist Marko Feri (Baros Records) a CD entitled \u201cViews\u201d (2016). She<br \/>\nrecorded with the Coastal Chamber Orchestra, with FlavtIstra Flute Ensemble and various<br \/>\nchamber ensembles as a soloist for RTV Koper-Capodistria, RTV Slovenia, Radio Malta, &#8230;<br \/>\nAlenka is also known as an excellent pedagogue at the Koper Music School and the<br \/>\nKoper High Music School (Gymnasium). Since 1997 she has achieved extraordinary results<br \/>\nand won many first prizes in national and international competitions with her flute students<br \/>\nand chamber music as well and successfully prepares them for further flute studies. She is<br \/>\nthe recipient of the Fran Gerbi\u010d Award, for exceptional pedagogic work (Slovenian Music<br \/>\nSchool Association, 2016).<br \/>\nIn 2009, she published three manuals for flute teachers and students (Flute<br \/>\nExercises), in 2014 she published the Manual for the youngest fife students (Traveling with<br \/>\nFife) and in 2015 issued the Manual for young flutists (Traveling with Flute). The manuals<br \/>\nprovide a progressive discovery of fife-flute playing elements, systematically exploring of<br \/>\nnew tones, breathing and good tone exercises, personalized interpretation of musical<br \/>\nconcepts, exercises for notes quick reading and fingers exercises, songs creation, beautiful<br \/>\nillustrations, playing a duet, piano accompaniment and the selected songs on the CD. She<br \/>\ndedicates the profit from sales of manuals for children&amp;#39;s education.<br \/>\nContinuous education and training in the field as a flutist and teacher enables her to<br \/>\nhold inspiring flute and performance seminars at home and abroad (Croatia, Serbia,<br \/>\nMontenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Italy, France, Austria, Argentina,<br \/>\nBrazil, Dominican Republic, Bangkok &#8211; Thailand, Gainesville, Florida &#8211; USA, &#8230;). Juliusz Pietrachowicz and performs as an orchestral and chamber musician. He is a trombonist in the orchestra of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, with which he has recorded many albums and made numerous artistic trips around Europe and the USA.<\/p>\n<p>For over 20 years he has also been involved in music pedagogy. He teaches the trombone class at the Music School Complex of Ignacy Paderewski in Bia\u0142ystok. She also completed two years of high school music education in her class, and the final two years with Professor Mirko Mari\u00e9. In 2022, she graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under the mentorship of Professor Bostjan Lipovsek.<br \/>\nDuring her studies, she participated in various tours. In 2014, she was among the selected students who had the opportunity to perform in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. In 2017, she was a member of the international symphony orchestra Euphony and, as the principal horn player of the &#8220;Isidor Bajic&#8221; high school symphony orchestra, she performed in a competition in Belgium. During 2017\/18, she collaborated with the Queen Real Tribute symphony orchestra. In February 2018, she was invited as a guest horn player with the Zagreb Chamber Orchestra, with which she performed in Zagreb, Salzburg, and Vienna. In July 2018, she performed as principal horn with the international youth orchestra Triorca in England. That same year, she performed in Berlin with the Ljubljana Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra at the Young Euro Classic international festival. She has been a regular substitute for the Slovenian Police Orchestra and the SNG Ljubljana Orchestra. During her studies, she attended various workshops with professors such as Luiz Garcia, Palma Szilagyi, Will Sanders, Markus Bruggaier, and Szabolcs Zemple\u00e9ni. A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw , as well as the State Jazz Study at the F. Chopin Secondary School of Music in Warsaw. He participated in intensive courses organized in famous percussion schools: Drummers Collective in New York and Drum-Tech in London. Since 2017, a lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In 2019, he obtained a doctorate in musical arts in the artistic discipline of Instrumental Studies. Guest lecturer at the Postgraduate Studies in Wind Orchestras at the UMFC in Warsaw. Session musician, with over 50 albums to his credit with artists representing a number of musical genres. His recordings have won, among others, Diamond and Gold Record levels in the Pop category, Gold Record in the Jazz category and Fryderyk Nomination in the Classical category. He performs solo, with chamber ensembles and with symphonic ensembles. He has given over a dozen world and European premieres of solo and chamber pieces. He also shares the stage with artists from the jazz and pop music scene. He has taken part in many festivals and concerts in Poland and abroad, including the USA, Lebanon, India and almost all of Europe. His students have won awards and distinctions at over 60 national and international percussion competitions. Lecturer and juror at many workshops, festivals and percussion conferences, often international. Percussion consultant at the Center for Artistic Education. In 2022, he was invited by the Department of Artistic Education to the expert committee developing the Core Curriculum for percussion classes at primary and secondary music schools.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Saxophone: <\/strong><strong>Michal Kalinowski<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saxophonist, actor of music scenes. A graduate of the Music University of F. Chopin, the State Jazz School named after H. Majewski in Warsaw and the State Vocal and Acting School in Bia\u0142ystok. He played in bands led by: Zbigniew Namys\u0142owski (Namys\u0142owski Super Band), Ryszard Borowski (Big Band Akwarium). He recorded the saxophone part on several albums, including &#8220;The Funk to Change&#8221; &#8211; KEN LEE, &#8220;You saved me&#8221; &#8211; Schola Adonai. Winner of the Young Forms dance festivals in Mr\u0105gowo and the Po\u0142czy\u0144ski Dance Festival. He created acting roles, e.g. musicals: &#8220;Beautiful Cellist&#8221; dir. Jakub Wocial, Ark Naomi, dir. Robert Drobniuch.<\/p>\n<p>He teaches the saxophone class at the State Primary Music School. J.S. Bach in Grajewo. From 2022,\u00a0and Music School in Sok\u00f3\u0142ka.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, he performed as a soloist with the Orchestra of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, currently works with the Opera as a saxophonist in the show &#8220;Broadway Dance Club&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Participant of international and national workshops conducted e.g. by Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Reynolds (Snarky Puppy), Greg Osby, Alex Terrier, Ari Roland, Bronis\u0142aw Suchanek, \u0141ukasz Ojdana. At the end of his studies, he was awarded a scholarship for the most successful students at the University of Trieste. Later, he further refined his skills with Gerard Metrailler, Andrew Balio, and others.<\/p>\n<p>During his studies, he performed as a soloist with various ensembles, such as the CMGT Conservatory Orchestra, the Francesco Poloni chamber ensemble, and other smaller chamber groups. Later, he appeared as a soloist and member of various orchestras on different occasions in the Vatican (Evening for Africa, ONC Concert, New Year&#8217;s Concert with Montserrat Caball\u00e9, etc.). As a soloist and arranger, he also collaborated with the Trieste-Salerno Brass Ensemble. He excelled in competitions, winning first place in his category at the All-Italian Student Competition Belle Arti in Livorno, and at the Santa Cecilia competition in Rome, where he received a special award\u2014a chance to play in an orchestra composed of the best students from all Italian conservatories.<\/p>\n<p>As a soloist or member of various groups, he has collaborated with musicians such as Montserrat Caball\u00e9, Jos\u00e9 Maria Sciutto, Andrew Balio, Bruno Aprea, Fabio Mastrangelo, Anton Nanut, Franco Poloni, Enio Morricone, Josh Groban, Romolo Gessi, and others.<\/p>\n<p>After his studies, he became a trumpet teacher at the Koper Music School, and from the 2011\/2012 school year, he has been teaching at the artistic department of the Koper Gymnasium. He serves as a mentor and soloist in the KIP Brass Ensemble (Koper, Izola, Piran), various school orchestras, and summer music camps such as Intercampus and Musica Creativa. He plays in the Coastal Chamber Orchestra and the Koper Wind Orchestra and also conducts the Koper En Big Band. He is also active in the field of popular music, having recorded several dozen CDs as a session musician and arranged numerous pieces for various ensembles and genres. He received a number of awards for the best arrangements or songs at festivals, TV shows and he also won as a vocalist, backing vocalist. He has performed at shows and festivals like the Slovenska popevka, Eurovison national contest, Melodies of sea and sun, Summer night, as well as various television and radio shows.
