Marco Pierobon, first Prize winner in the international competitions of Passau (Germany), Imperia and Aqui Terme, Marco Pierobon was First Trumpet of the Orchestras of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (1999-2002 with Zubin Mehta) and the Accademia di S. Cecilia (2003-2008 with Antonio Pappano) for almost ten years, and has collaborated in the same role with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (Daniel Barenboim) and the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala.

He has performed as a soloist with the orchestras of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, English Chamber Orchestra, Wiener Kammerkonzert, China Youth Orchestra, I virtuosi del Teatro alla Scala, I Solisti Veneti, Junge Philarmonie Salzburg, Filarmonica Marchigiana, with the orchestras of Mar del Plata and Tucuman (Argentina), Mantua, Bolzano, Vicenza, and Sanremo. In that capacity he has performed in Japan, Russia, Argentina, China, Europe and the United States with conductors such as Mehta, Karabtchevsky, Siebens, Heider, Neuhold, Gothoni.

Several works have been dedicated to him by leading composers such as Giancarlo Aquilanti, Angelo Sormani, Giuseppe Bonafine, Michele Mangani.

In 2014 he performed with the Stanford Wind Ensemble the Absolute Premiere of Giancarlo Aquilanti’s Concerto for Trumpet and Wind Orchestra, both in the U.S. and on a European tour, and in 2018 Giancarlo Aquilanti’s “Double Concerto for Tromba Tuba and Wind Orchestra,” again in the U.S. and on a European Tour.

Since 2014 he has debuted as a conductor, cwith the San Remo Symphony Orchestra and the “Haydn” Orchestra of Bolzano. Later he also conducted the orchestras of the Carlo Felice Theater in Genoa, the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb, the Chamber Orchestra of Perugia, the Slovenian National Radio Orchestra, and performed as a soloist as part of the Astana (Kazakhstan) Expo with the Almaty Symphony Orchestra.

In 2017, 2021 and 2024 he was invited to perform as part of the “International Trumpet Guild Conference” (USA), the annual conference of the World Trumpet Association.

In 2018 he performed as a soloist with the Teatro alla Scala orchestra (Mahler’s Third Symphony – Posthorn) and in live worldwide streaming with the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra on the occasion of the “Concert for Milan” (Mussorsky/Ravel, Pictures of an Exhibition).

He has given MasterClasses in USA, Argentina, Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Canada, England, Greece, Germany and Austria, and for several Italian Festivals and Academies.

He has made recordings for Sony and Emi with the Orchestra of the Accademia di S.Cecilia (Rome) under the baton of Antonio Pappano.

With the GomalanBrass Brass Quintet, for which he takes care of all arrangements, he has performed all over the world and has four record productions and two DVDs to his credit for Summit Records and Naxos. To date four concert tours have been performed in major cities in Japan.

Since 2007 he has held the chair of Trumpet at the Bolzano Conservatory of Music.

Marco Pierobon is a “Yamaha Performing Artist” and “Wedge Mouthpiece Endorsing Artist.” He plays exclusively Yamaha instruments and Wedge mouthpieces.

He currently lives in the countryside around Parma with his wife Francesca, a violinist and music teacher, two children, Biagio (bassoonist) and Amelia (cornist), and two dogs, Violetta and Alfredo.
