Ales Klancar 2023Aleš Klančar (born 1981) started playing the trumpet at age of 11. During his studies, he won several national competitions and prizes and in 2015 he took his Master Degree in Fine Arts at the Malmö Academy of Music (Sweden), graduating in the class of the world-renowned soloist and professor Håkan Hardenberger. In addition, he was frequently attending masterclasses and taking lessons with other established professors such as Bo Nilsson, Stephen Burns, Stanko Arnold, Matthias Höfs, Rex Martin, Gabriele Cassone, Thomas Stevens…

Under the influence of his professor Håkan Hardenberger he began focusing on contemporary classical music and after finishing his studies he started to collaborate with various international ensembles. Today he is a regular member of Remix Ensemble Casa da Musica (Portugal) and Insomnio ensemble (the Netherlands). In addition, he often performs with other European ensembles for contemporary music such as MusikFabrik (Germany), KlangForum (Austria), Contrechamps (Switzerland), Ensemble Schwerpunkt (Germany), Ensemble Ars Nova (Sweden), Athelas Sinfonietta (Denmark), Ives ensemble (the Netherlands) among others. He performed under the baton of several renowned conductors, including Peter Rundel, Pascal Rophé, Emilio Pomarico, Péter Eötvös and played on many prominent festivals world-wide such as Acht Brücken (Köln), Warsaw Autumn, Axes Festival (Krakow), Donaueschingen Festival, Ultraschall (Berlin), Wien Modern, Time of Music (Viitasaari), Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik, Printemps des arts (Monte-Carlo), Agora Festival Paris, Autumn Sound (Chengdu), New music Week (Shanghai), Lincoln Center Festival (New York), Festival d’Automne (Pariz), Musikfest (Berlin), Copenhagen Avantgarde Music Festival (Copenhagen), Slowind festival (Ljubljana). During his musical career, he collaborated with numerous symphony and opera orchestras (Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Royal Danish Opera, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Opera, Turku Symphony Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic…) and he also performed as a soloist with Radio Orchestra WDR, Korean Chamber Orchestra, Remix ensemble, Insomnio ensemble, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic, latest being the Danish premier of Olga Neuwirth’s trumpet concerto – Miramondo multiplo with Athelas sinfonietta in March this year.

Lately he has also been devoting his attention to teaching young musicians at music summer courses and daily seminars as well as participating in the jury panels of music competitions.
