Linas Šalna, (b.1970) Lithuanian oboist and pedagogue, long-time soloist of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, graduated from the J.Tallat Kelpšos Conservatory, Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, interned at the Salzburg Mozarteum with prof.L. Koch. While still a student, he already played in the Lithuanian National Symphony and since 1994 year he is concertmaster of LVSO oboe group. Active member of various chamber orchestras and ensembles, soloist, who has performed in more than 30 countries around the world. Since 1994, he has been teaching at the national M.K.Čiurlionis school of arts. His oboe class students are winners and laureates of national and international competitions, artists of the best Lithuanian orchestras, soloists, who graduated not only from LMTA, but also from Brussels, Metz, and Copenhagen music academies.
